Updated: The University of Florida has released a statement regarding the sexual battery allegations against Treon Harris.

After news broke of Florida’s media availability being cancelled, reports surfaced that true freshman quarterback Treon Harris is being investigated for a legal matter. As a consequence, Harris has also been suspended by the team indefinitely per Richard Johnson, an online editor for The Alligator, Florida’s student newspaper.

Dave Jones of Florida Today was the first to report the news of an investigation involving Harris.

According to Jones, the University of Florida police department is investigating Harris for a possible felony charge.

Harris replaced starting quarterback Jeff Driskel in last weekend’s game against Tennessee and led the Gators in a comeback win over the Vols by scoring 10 unanswered points in the fourth quarter.
