The Clint Trickett era in Tuscaloosa was a short one as FAU head coach Lane Kiffin has hired the former West Virginia quarterback to coach his tight ends in Boca Raton.

Trickett has already updated his Twitter account, confirming the news. Alabama head coach Nick Saban originally extended an offer to Trickett of join his staff in January. Trickett’s specific role with the Tide was never publicly defined. Trickett’s father, Rick, is a long-time offensive line coach, known best for his time coaching at West Virginia and Florida State.

Trickett began his playing career at Florida State before transferring to West Virginia. He had to quit football following multiple concussions. He spent the last two seasons as quarterbacks coach at East Mississippi Community College.
