When he was able to play, former Alabama WR Julio Jones played a large part in getting the Atlanta Falcons into the playoffs, and ultimately to the Super Bowl. His 83 catches for 1,409 yards is down in production from the last two seasons, but Jones posted those numbers in only 14 regular-season games, fewer than the previous two seasons.

Jones’ numbers are even more impressive in light of the fact that he has been dealing with a sprained ankle and turf toe. The latter injury, NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport, has limited Jones all season, and may require offseason season.

Rapoport reported the following Sunday:

Jones will receive a full evaluation on his foot, sources say, and going under the knife is either likely or possible depending on whom you ask. … If Jones needs surgery, the procedure to fix torn ligaments associated with turf toe will be measured in months but not expected to delay his 2017 season.

Jones described himself as “full go” for Sunday during media week after a week of rest.

“It is what it is,” Jones said of the injury, “but a good week for anybody just relaxes the body and helps you get back to being healthy.”

The Falcons are certainly hoping that the rest from the bye week will have Jones ready to go against the New England Patriots. In Atlanta’s two playoff games, Jones has 15 catches for 247 yards and 3 touchdowns.
