After their run to the national championship game in 2013, Auburn had four players taken in the 2014 NFL Draft.  Offensive tackle Greg Robinson and defensive end Dee Ford became the 29th and 30th Auburn players selected in the first round. Robinson, chosen No. 2 overall, was selected by the St. Louis Rams. The Kansas City Chiefs used the 23rd pick overall to select Ford.

Robinson and Ford are among 31 Auburn Tigers working out for NFL squads this summer. Linebacker and cornerback are the two positions where the Auburn alum are the most plentiful. The St.Louis Rams, coming off a 7-9 campaign in 2013, currently have 4 Tigers on their rosters. There are 3 Tigers playing for the silver and black in Oakland.

Perhaps the most interesting story is that of Onterio McCalebb. As a member of the 2010 national championship team, McCalebb thrived in Gus Malzahn’s offense as a running back. McCalebb complemented Michael Dyer, a between-the-tackles-runner, with his speed to get to the edge. After a year on the Bengals practice squad, McCalebb is switching to cornerback in hopes of landing a spot on the Cincinnati Bengals roster. In 2013 the Bengals used McCalebb’s speed, albeit only three times, as a kick returner.

NFL rosters must be trimmed to 75 plays by Aug. 26 . The final 53-man roster has to be set by Aug. 30
