Stephen Davis Jr. has decided to follow in his father’s footsteps after all.

The four-star defensive back originally committed to the Tigers in 2014 but decommitted after the firing of defensive coordinator Ellis Johnson following the 2015 season. After taking some time to reevaluate his recruitment, Davis has once again decided Auburn was the place for him:

Davis will be counting as a late addition to the 2016 recruiting class and will eligible to play this fall for the Tigers.

The 6-foot-4, 215-pound Davis was rated as a four-star prospect in the 2016 recruiting cycle, the No. 15 athlete in the country and the No. 6 recruit from South Carolina, according to 247Sports. Davis chose Auburn over offers from South Carolina, Florida, Georgia, Missouri, Tennessee, Clemson and Notre Dame.

Davis’ father, Stephen Davis rushed for over 2,800 yards and 30 touchdowns during his playing days at Auburn from 1993-1995.
