Calvin Ashley, a five-star offensive tackle from Washington (D.C) St. John’s College High School, is on his way to Auburn.

If an incoming freshman like Ashley wants to earn playing time with the Tigers right away, then he better be in tip-top shape. Coach Gus Malzahn runs his system at a blistering pace, which can be physically demanding for any player.

Luckily for Ashley, he has a lot of experience with zone-blocking schemes at the high-school level. That’s what he’ll be asked to be a part of more often than not on The Plains. He’s also battled some of the premier pass rushers in America already, so he’s prepared for the kind of athletes he’ll see regularly in the SEC.

Be sure to watch the video above, as Ashley spent some time with SDS at the 2017 Under Armour All-America Game in Orlando.
