Auburn coach Gus Malzahn updated the statuses of two offensive starters during his press conference Tuesday.

Malzahn said running back Kamryn Pettway will be out for Saturday’s game against Alabama A&M, but hopes to have the sophomore back for next week’s matchup at Alabama. The coach also revealed quarterback Sean White is still “day to day, week to week.”

Pettway experienced an injury late in Auburn’s win over Vanderbilt on Nov. 5 and was inactive for last week’s loss to Georgia. The sophomore leads the Tigers with 1,106 yards and seven touchdowns on 173 rushing attempts. Pettway has record more than 100 yards in six games, including his last four appearances.

White reportedly “aggravated” a previous shoulder injury and refrained from notifying his coaches during Saturday’s loss, according to AL.com.

“A guy came on a blitz or something,” White said. “(He) hit me and (the ball) came free after I threw the ball and just kind of aggravated something. … I think I could have done a better job letting the coaches know. I wanted to play with my team and I wanted to try to win.”
