Matt Jones, a former Florida Gators running back and current starting tailback for the Washington Redskins, has left the team’s preseason game tonight against the New York Jets according to a report. Josh Alper, of nbcsports.com, said Jones came down hard on his left shoulder and went straight to the sideline after the play.

Jones then left the sideline to go to the locker room and get x-rays. The former Gator ran for 490 yards and three touchdowns as a rookie in 2015. Jones was a third round pick in 2015.

Throughout his three-year collegiate career, Jones stayed healthy outside of his sophomore season. Back in 2013, he played in just five games because of a torn meniscus.
