The Matchup: Florida (2-1) at Tennessee (2-2)

The Venue: Neyland Stadium

The Kick: 12 p.m. ET

TV: SEC Network

Series record: Florida leads 24-19

Last meeting: After starting quarterback Jeff Driskel went down with an injury, backup quarterback Tyler Murphy came in and led the Gators to a 31-17 win over Tennessee at The Swamp. Murphy finished the game with 134 yards passing and 84 yards rushing.

Coaches: Will Muschamp (24-17), Butch Jones (57-36)

Last game (Florida): It was a disappointing performance for the Gators, who couldn’t take advantage of four Alabama turnovers. Florida lost 42-21 and was virtually unable to do anything on offense.

Last game (Tennessee): The Vols gave a valiant effort last week in Athens against Georgia. Tennessee lost 35-32, but quarterback Justin Worley and running back Jalen Hurd shined for the offense. If Worley hadn’t missed significant time in the second half due to injury, there’s a very good chance Tennessee would have upset Georgia.

Florida wins if: Quarterback Jeff Driskel is able to develop some consistency on offense. The defense has kept Florida in games thus far, so if the offense can pick things up, there’s no reason why the Gators can’t win this game.

Tennessee wins if: They can force turnovers. Tennessee’s defense has played better than expected this season and should be able to give Florida some trouble on Saturday. The more uncomfortable they can make Jeff Driskel, the more likely Tennessee gets the win.

What it means if Florida wins: Head coach Will Muschamp and Driskel survive another day. Obviously, both won’t lose their jobs if the Gators’ lose, but it’ll only multiply their detractors. A Florida win would give both some much-needed breathing room moving into a home game against LSU.

What it means if Tennessee wins:  Tennessee and Florida are moving in two different directions. A Vols win would certainly increase Tennessee’s chances of reaching a bowl game and perhaps being a surprise contender in the SEC East. It would also make the likelihood of Will Muschamp keeping his job even more unrealistic.
