Video: Jim McElwain talks about first spring practice, brags on new kicker
Florida held its first spring practice on Wednesday.
The big news out coming out of Gainesville prior to practice was that QB Luke Del Rio was granted a third year of eligibility.
It was a bit of good news after it was revealed on Tuesday that both QB Treon Harris and WR Antonio Callaway would not be with the team for spring practice.
Gators coach Jim McElwain met with the media following the practice.
He bragged on his new kicker Eddy Pineiro, who made all of his field goal attempts, including a 58-yarder:

McElwain went on to say that @eddypineiro1 made all of his FGs today, including a 58-yard FG to end practice. #Gators

Gators fans know all too well the important of a strong kicker after the disastrous results from the position in the 2015 season.
Del Rio went on the field with the first-team offense, which was expected based on some of the comments McElwain made about his being around last season to absorb the system.
McElwain on Luke Del Rio: "He’s been awful hungry to get out here, and he showed he was ready." #Gators
