Georgia knows it needs to improve along the offensive line if it wants to finish the 2017 season with a better record than 2016.

Therefore, first-year coach Kirby Smart targeted an experienced JUCO offensive lineman, landing a commitment on Monday afternoon.

D’Marcus Hayes, a 6-foot-6, 320-pound 2017 JUCO lineman, announced his commitment to the Bulldogs on Twitter:

According to 247Sports, Hayes is the No. 2 JUCO offensive tackle in the class of 2017 and the No. 8 overall JUCO recruit from the state of Mississippi.

Hayes, who played for Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in 2016, was also considering Louisville, Mississippi State, Arkansas and Auburn, among others.
