Georgia fans and SEC fans alike are counting down the days until Nick Chubb returns to the Bulldogs’ backfield. Perhaps everyone minus SEC defensive coordinators are anxious for his return, because he’s such a fun player to watch.

Kirby Smart hasn’t put a definite timetable on Chubb’s return yet, but everyone’s hopeful he can return to start the college football season.

“When that’s gonna be [his return], I don’t know,” Smart said earlier this month. “I’ve said this over and over every time I talk to a group, I am not a an SME — a subject matter expert — on knee injuries.”

Chubb suffered the knee injury last fall on the first play from scrimmage at Tennessee. The injury left a brutal scar on Chubb’s knee, as shown by UGA fan Greg Jones, who posted the photo on his Twitter account.

Chubb rushed for 747 yards on 92 carries and seven touchdowns before his injury. He was the SEC’s Freshman of the Year in 2014 after rushing for 1,547 yards and 14 touchdowns.
