What’s the temperature like in Lexington, Ky.? Here’s who’s hot or cold for the Kentucky Wildcats.

RED HOT

Quarterback Patrick Towles accounted for the majority of Kentucky’s 504 total yards, their second-largest output of the season, in Saturday’s loss to No. 1 Mississippi State. He set new career-highs with 390 yards and two touchdowns on 24-of-43 passing and 76 yards and two touchdowns on 23 rushing attempts. Towles will need to shed his “game manager” label once again as Kentucky faces a tough Missouri front seven.

WARM

Senior Demarco Robinson found the end zone for the first time all season in Week 9. Robinson provided Kentucky with its first touchdown, a 67-yard reception, with 6:25 remaining in the first quarter. He ended Saturday’s game with 86 yards on four receptions, along with 56 yards on four kick returns.

Ryan Timmons, Kentucky’s leading receiver, also enjoyed a stellar performance. The sophomore recorded a team-best 114 yards on five catches.

ICE COLD

Despite Towles’ stellar performance, Kentucky saw an otherwise disappointing output from its running game. Jojo Kemp was held to just 14 yards on three attempts, which was the most among Wildcats running backs. Braylon Heard, the only other back to finish with positive yards, recorded 13 on five attempts, averaging 2.6 per carry.

Kentucky has seen inconsistency in recent weeks from its running backs. However, the Wildcats have been fortunate to have surprising breakout performances from teammates when the top rushers have struggled.

SUBZERO

Kentucky’s rushing defense has struggled in recent weeks against SEC competition. Saturday’s game was no exception. Josh Robinson became the SEC’s leading rusher thanks to a 198-yard, two touchdown performance on Saturday. Heisman favorite Dak Prescott added 88 yards and a pair of his own scores, as the Bulldogs combined for 326 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 51 attempts.
