Kentucky (2-0) opens its SEC schedule against Florida (1-0) in a Saturday evening matchup this weekend in the Swamp. Let’s take a look inside some of the numbers.

THE GOOD

0: Turnovers committed by first-time starting quarterback Patrick Towles through Kentucky’s first two games of 2014. The Wildcats have the best turnover margin in the conference, having forced six without committing a single one.

9: Plays of 30 yards or more made by the Kentucky offense, tops in the SEC. The Cats have nine plays of 30 yards or more, seven plays of 40 yards or more, four plays of 50 yards or more and two plays of 60 yards or more this season.

13: Receptions by sophomore Ryan Timmons so far this season, good for third in the SEC. Timmons is behind the only Alabama’s Amari Cooper and Texas A&M’s Malcolme Kennedy, and is tied with Auburn’s D’haquille Williams for third in the conference.

THE BAD

27: Consecutive years UK has lost to Florida. It cannot be stated enough, the Kentucky-Florida rivalry has been the most lopsided rivalry among all of college football’s power conferences. Really, it’s the most lopsided rivalry in all of college football, period, as Kentucky’s struggles have turned into the longest active losing streak by one opponent to another in the nation.

0: Combined sacks recorded by star senior defensive ends Bud Dupree and Za’Darius Smith so far this season. The Cats viewed defensive end as a strength entering this season, and while it has been far from a weakness, Kentucky surely expected more sacks from its top-two ends, especially after coach Mark Stoops said both had NFL ability and that Dupree was talented enough to be a first round pick.

15: Tackles for loss allowed by the Kentucky offensive line, second-worst in the SEC only ahead of Ole Miss, which has allowed 19 tackles for loss. Kentucky is also tied for worst in the conference with five sacks allowed this season.
