LSU hasn’t released official team figures, but if recent social media reports are correct, the Tigers may have an athlete who has already earned the title of the ‘college football’s fastest player’ heading into the 2015 season.

Freshman cornerback Donte Jackson, a four-star playmaker out of New Orleans, reportedly ran a 4.24 on earlier this week during LSU’s team workouts, according to NOLA.com.

If his time’s accurate, that would match former East Carolina running back Chris Johnson’s record-setting electronic time at the NFL Combine in 2008.

Jackson won back-to-back 4A state titles in the 100 meters in high school and is widely-considered LSU’s fastest player.

The Tigers are planning to incorporate that speed on offense, Les Miles revealed this summer.
