STEAM ROLLING

The offensive line. It took half the season, but the offensive line looks to be gelling before the season spiraled completely out of control. Tackle La’el Collins has been holding down the left side of the line all season, but it appears his linemates are getting up to speed. Elliott Porter has improved at center after being suspended for the first two games, and guards Ethan Pocic and Vadal Alexander are finally clicking, with Alexander winning the SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week award. The Tigers had one of their most impressive rushing efforts of the season against a stingy Gators defense, rushing for nearly 200 yards on 50 carries.

HOT SHOT

Leonard Fournette. After a lackluster start to the season, the highly touted freshman running back is breaking out as a true star in the SEC. Fournette put up 140 yards and scored twice against the Gators, by far the most Florida has allowed to an individual this season. He’s run for more than 100 yards in two of the Tigers’ last three games, and he’ll be the workhorse for this offense going forward.

MICROWAVE OVEN

Travin Dural. It’s never a good thing when a team’s top receiver is being shut out deep into the fourth quarter, even worse when it’s happening against a porous pass defense like Florida’s. Luckily for LSU, their sophomore stud didn’t get discouraged by his early game failures and came through in the clutch for LSU. He hauled in both of his catches on the Tigers’ final touchdown drive, streaking behind two defensive backs for a huge third-and-25 conversion and then hauling in a filthy touchdown catch while being interfered with.

NOT GETTING ANY WARMER

Anthony Jennings’ completion rate. The Tigers sophomore quarterback hasn’t completed more than 50 percent of his passes since the Louisiana-Monroe game, and his completion percentage for this season sits at an even 50. If he hadn’t hit on 3-of-4 passes to end the game, including two crucial completions to Travin Dural, his 10-of-21, 110-yard line would have been much uglier.
