With a long kick return to open the game and a punt return for a touchdown, LSU owned the special teams battle in the first half. They also recovered an onside kick in one of the oddest ways possible.

After Travin Dural hauled in a 32-yard touchdown, LSU was kicking off with 44 seconds remaining in the first half. Tigers kicker Trent Domingue squib kicked the ball, hoping to limit Kentucky’s return, but it took a couple of funny bounces as it bounded down the field. No Kentucky player came close to the ball, while LSU’s special teams unit streaked down the field and defensive lineman Lewis Neal dove on the ball. After recovering, LSU drove down and kicked a field goal for a 27-3 lead going into halftime.

As it has throughout Les Miles tenure, LSU is finding weird ways to put points on the board.
