LSU head coach Ed Orgeron looks to have found his replacement for former special teams coordinator Bradley Dale Peveto as former New Orleans Saints special teams coordinator Greg McMahon has reportedly joined the Tigers staff. April was let go by Orgeron soon after landing the full-time head coaching position at LSU.

McMahon will not be named special teams coordinator for LSU, but rather as a special teams analyst. This news comes via Ross Dellenger of The Advocate.

McMahon has been with the Saints since 2006 and has been in coaching since 1982. McMahon teaches an aggressive style of play on special teams, as his unit has recovered 15 fumbles, scored 12 touchdowns, blocked three punts, five field goals, and three extra points in the last eight seasons in New Orleans.

McMahon adds his name to the growing list of assistants to join Orgeron’s staff this offseason, which includes offensive coordinator Matt Canada, receivers coach Mickey Joseph, running backs coach/recruiting coordinator Tommie Robinson and the promotion of Dennis Johnson to outside linebackers coach.
