The Les Miles era has been good to LSU’s prospective NFL talent.

Since the Mad Hatter arrived in Baton Rouge, LSU has arguably assumed the mantle as the best school in the SEC for producing NFL players, neck and neck with Alabama. In Miles’ first nine springs as LSU’s head coach, the Tigers have sent 60 players to the NFL draft, with another three coming off of Nick Saban’s last team in the bayou bringing the total for the last decade to 63.

Over the last two years, LSU has set and then tied the school record for most players selected in a single draft with nine each in 2013 and 2014. In 2014, that total was the highest of any school in the nation for the year.

Miles’ tenure also features the second No.1 overall pick in school history, JaMarcus Russell, as well as 13 total first round picks. The Tigers have had a player chosen in the first round in eight of Miles’ first nine drafts as LSU’s coach, with 2010 the lone exception.

LSU is likely to have at least one more first rounder on Thursday, with left tackle La’el Collins and cornerback Jalen Collins both projected to go in the latter half of the round by many mock drafts. Early entrants Kwon Alexander and Danielle Hunter are both likely to be selected in the first three rounds, while running back Terrence Magee could go as early as the fourth round.
