Former LSU defensive tackle and current SEC Network analyst Booger McFarland told Russillo and Kanell he would rather see Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin coach the Tigers than Les Miles in 2017 Thursday.

“I would roll the dice on Lane,” McFarland said. “The game has changed offensively. (Miles) is not going to change. If you see where the game is heading offensively, don’t you have to go there?”

McFarland is a member of the LSU Athletics Hall of Fame and was an All-American during his senior season in 1998. He did not, however, play under Miles, who took over as coach in 2005.

Kiffin coached at USC from 2010-2013 and led the Trojans to a 28-15 (17-12 Pac-12). He was unceremoniously fired by former USC Athletics Director Pat Haden when the team arrived back in Los Angeles hours after a 62-41 loss to Arizona State.

He spent one season as Tennessee’s head coach in 2009 and led the Vols to a 7-6 (4-4) before leaving for USC.
