While there’s been much noise regarding Mississippi State’s decision to let Jeffery Simmons enroll in the university and suspended for just one game, we have yet to hear from head coach Dan Mullen.

And the silence has been somewhat deafening.

MSU athletic director Scott Stricklin faced the media Thursday, and Mullen finally commented on his 5-star enrollee Simmons on Friday, saying he felt like he deserved a chance in life.

Perhaps Mullen meant “a second chance.”

Yesterday, MSU revealed that Simmons could enroll at the university with conditions, and he would be suspended for just one game.
