Sirmones is most known for his game-tying touchdown against Ole Miss in the 1999 Egg Bowl with :38 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter. Mississippi State found itself down 20-13 about 12 yards deep into opponent territory, but quarterback Wayne Madkin found a wide-open Sirmones down the field, who scampered in for the score. The Bulldogs would then end up converting on a 44-yard, game-winning field goal before regulation expired.
