We’re inside of 24 hours until ink hits paper in college football, the most important day of the offseason in the SEC as touted prep seniors sign binding letters of intent. National Signing Day has become a February spectacle we’re all interested in as football fiends, one that breeds anticipation at every major program in the country.

RELATEDAnnouncement times for the SEC’s top uncommitted prospects

Mississippi State is coming off one of the more special seasons in its program’s history, and it’s hoping to cash in on that recent success with a banner day on National Signing Day.

The Bulldogs have 27 combined commits and early enrollees, and on the eve of the biggest recruiting day of the year it does not appear any of those incoming players will flip their commitment. This includes safety Jamal Peters, a Mississippi native and the No. 3 high school safety in the 2015 class, who passed on a visit to LSU last weekend and instead traveled to MSU’s campus in Starkville.

Peters is one of six four-star prospects in Mississippi State’s current class, the most four-star-or-better recruits Mississippi State has claimed in one class since 2009, head coach Dan Mullen’s first year on the job.

Although it seems unlikely that Mississippi State will lose anyone from its current recruiting class on National Signing Day, there are also no indications it will gain any new recruits flipping from other schools.

The nation’s top inside linebacker recruit, Mississippi native Leo Lewis, decommitted from Ole Miss last weekend and Mississippi State has targeted him throughout the recruitment process. However, it seems likely that Lewis will head to LSU instead.
