The coaches love them some offense – the Ole Miss Rebels moved up three spots to No. 11 in the USA Today Coaches Poll. According to the coaches, Ole Miss is the second-best team in the SEC West, trailing only No. 2 Alabama.

The Rebels are ranked ahead of three division rivals in the Coaches Poll: No. 14 Auburn, No. 15 Auburn and No. 18 Texas A&M. The Aggies have a legitimate gripe with the coaches poll, as its resume includes a win over a team that was previously ranked, then-No. 16 Arizona State 38-17, something LSU and Ole Miss have not yet accomplished.

In the Associated Press Top 25, Ole Miss moved up two spots to No. 15, leapfrogging previous No. 16/new No. 18 Texas A&M but coming in behind division rival No. 13 LSU. The Rebels are poised to become the top ranked SEC West team in both polls with a win at No. 2 Alabama.

The matchup between the No. 11/15 Rebels and the No. 2/2 Crimson Tide pits strength against strength. Ole Miss currently holds claim to college football’s top scoring offense, averaging 74.5 points per game after wins over UT Martin and Fresno State. Alabama’s scoring defense currently ranks No. 25, allowing an average of 13.5 points per game.

After the showdown with the Crimson Tide, the Rebels play back-to-back games against unranked SEC East foes (Vanderbilt, @Florida).
