The Good

30: The percentage of third down conversions Ole Miss is allowing to opposing offenses so far this season. As good as that defense has been, its ability to get off the field on third downs has been key to the Rebels’ 5-0 start. Holding a high-powered Texas A&M offense to under 50 percent on third downs this week will be a big key to the game.

152.4: The number of passing yards per game the Rebels’ defense is allowing. Ole Miss allowed 228 yards to Blake Sims last weekend and now faces Kenny Hill who is averaging nearly 400 yards per game for Texas A&M.

10.2: The number of points per game Ole Miss is surrendering to its opponents. Alabama is by far the most marquee opponent the Rebels have faced, but now face a much more high-powered Texas A&M offense averaging well over 40 points per game.

The Bad

47.6: The number of yards Ole Miss’ leading rusher is averaging per game this season. So far for Hugh Freeze, it’s been a running back by committee approach with three guys averaging at least 30 yards per game on the ground. The Rebels are averaging 143 rushing yards per game as a team, but no back has stepped in to take hold of that role.

15.9: Yards per kickoff return Ole Miss is averaging this season. Special teams have not really been a threat at all for the Rebels. This also indicates Ole Miss has been starting deep in its own territory on drives.

51: The percentage of third downs the Rebel offense is converting. Bo Wallace and company have had trouble moving the chains on third downs, often stymieing drives. As the schedule now flips to ranked opponents, it will be important for the Ole Miss offense to stay on the field.
