With the kind of schedule that Georgia has in October, it’d be easy to put the Bulldogs in just about each one of the slots on this list.

The month could make or break Georgia, as well as SEC East challengers Tennessee and Missouri, which UGA faces in consecutive weeks.

There are so many great games in October that a classic matchup such as Florida-Georgia on Halloween falls just outside our list.

The SEC slate will be going strong in October as the divisions begin to take shape. Several teams can put themselves in an excellent position for the post-season, while others might find that this just wasn’t their year.

Here are five conference games we can’t wait to see in October:

OCT. 10: GEORGIA AT TENNESSEE

Last Meeting: Tennessee made a game of it late with a 6-yard touchdown throw from Justin Worley to Marquez North to bring the Volunteers within a field goal. It wasn’t enough as the Vols fell 35-32 in Athens. Todd Gurley was the star of the show, rushing for 208 yards and two Bulldog touchdowns.

At Stake: This contest could go a long way toward determining the SEC East champ. Tennessee returns an experienced defense with eight starters returning. They’ll be tasked with shutting down Gurley’s understudy Nick Chubb and a loaded Bulldog backfield.

OCT. 17: FLORIDA AT LSU

Last Meeting: LSU eked out a 30-27 win in 2014, courtesy of a Cody Delahoussaye 50-yard field goal with three seconds remaining. Florida led most of the game, but was unable to close the door on the Tigers as Leonard Fournette (140 yards, 2 TDs) ran all over the Gators.

At stake: Both teams enter the season with some questions. A win would go a long way for both squads — especially Florida, which will be trying to make its mark in the SEC East under first-year Gators coach Jim McElwain. Though the teams aren’t in the same division, one can never go wrong with a classic Florida-LSU tilt.

OCT. 17: MISSOURI AT GEORGIA

Last Meeting: This wasn’t much of a game as No. 13 Georgia marched into Columbia and dismantled No. 23 Missouri, 34-0. Nick Chubb rushed for 143 yards and scored once while subbing for Todd Gurley. It was the first time the Tigers were shut out since 2002.

At Stake: If Georgia survives the previous week against Tennessee with a win, a victory over Missouri could seal the SEC East for Mark Richt’s program. In the least, it would give the Bulldogs two great tiebreakers and put them in control of their own destiny.

OCT. 24: AUBURN AT ARKANSAS

Last Meeting: Auburn kicked off its season in Week 1 with a 45-21 win over Arkansas. Cameron Artis-Payne led Auburn with 177 yards on the ground and a touchdown.

At Stake: When the real Arkansas showed up last season, great teams lost. Just ask No. 20 LSU and No. 8 Ole Miss, who were blanked in consecutive weeks, respectively, by the Razorbacks. Arkansas became the team no one wanted to play. If they keep that mentality and improve upon last season, the Razorbacks could put a crimp in Auburn’s SEC West title hopes, while perhaps simultaneously fueling their own.

OCT. 24: TEXAS A&M AT OLE MISS

Last Meeting: Rebels quarterback Bo Wallace rushed for two touchdowns and threw for another as Ole Miss ran its record to an unblemished 6-0 on the 2014 season with a 35-20 win over Texas A&M — despite 401 yards from Aggies freshman quarterback Kenny Hill.

At Stake: Wins come at a premium in the SEC West. Each team is trying to establish its identity in a division dominated by teams from Alabama. The Aggies and Rebels need this victory to help their cause if they want to stay relevant in the SEC West.
