The pursuit of three-star tight end Thaddeus Moss, son of former NFL great Randy Moss, is heating up between two SEC teams.

Moss (6-foot-4, 240 pounds) recently announced a top 8 featuring Alabama and Georgia, and now the Crimson Tide are aggressively trying to get him down to Tuscaloosa for an official visit, according to AL.com.

One of the go-to players on offense at football factory Mallard Creek High in Charlotte, N.C., Moss has 26 offers including five from SEC programs. He doesn’t possess the same acrobatic leaping ability and superhuman hands as his father, but is a considerably stronger target and doesn’t lack athleticism in the passing game.

In recent years, Mallard Creek has produced Tennessee wideout Marquez North and Florida offensive tackle D.J. Humphries.

Alabama and Georgia are also going head-to-head for four-star running back Elijah Holyfield, the son of world champion boxer Evander Holyfield. He’s No. 1 on the Bulldogs’ board.
