Baylor has fired coach Art Briles for his involvement in the university’s poor handling of allegations involving sexual assault allegedly committed by a handful of football players over the last seven years or so, according to multiple reports.

ESPN’s Brett McMurphy was one of the firsts to report the news.

Briles compiled a 65-37 record in eight seasons with the Bears. Only nine other programs have more wins than Baylor since the start of the 2011 season; Briles won 50 over the last five years.

He concludes his career at Baylor with a 3-3 bowl record and a 3-4 record against active SEC teams (Missouri and Texas A&M were previously with the Big 12).
