Four-star defensive tackle Phidarian Mathis (Monroe, LA / Neville HS) will decide between Alabama and LSU, according to a report from TigerBait.com.

He’ll make official visits in the middle of January leading into National Signing Day on Feb. 1.

“I’ll be taking my official visit Jan. 13,” Mathis said. “LSU is always talking to me, calling me, making sure we’re staying up on things together. I really like how things have changed with Coach O. The program has more energy and guys love playing for him and that’s what I like.

“I’ll be taking my official visit Jan. 20,” he continued. “It’s a big defense, they’re like a train once they get rolling. They have a lot of great players. I think I would fit in well in their defense. We will see how things go on that visit.”

Mathis (6-foot-4, 290 pounds) is the No. 11 tackle in the nation for the 2017 class, serving as the No. 7 prospect from the state of Louisiana.

His 247Sports crystal ball currently predicts that he’ll end up committing to the Tigers when all said and done.
