Kirk Herbstreit’s top four continues to fluctuate as we near the final week of college football’s regular season.

No longer impressed by TCU after the Horned Frogs’ narrow escape in a win over Kansas, Herbstreit also kicked out Mississippi State in favor of Alabama, Florida State and Oregon Nos. 1-3. He’s been high on the Crimson Tide since a 59-point win over Texas A&M, calling Nick Saban’s squad the best team in the country for several weeks.

He rounded out the top four with his alma-mater, Ohio State, the first time this season he’s mentioned the Buckeyes as one of the nation’s elite. Ohio State beat Minnesota on the road, 31-24, to claim its eighth straight win with J.T. Barrett at quarterback.

Tuesday’s new College Football Playoff rankings will have several dramatic changes and in all likelihood feature Mississippi State dropping several spots after the Bulldogs’ first loss.
