Leonard Fournette’s been showered with praise and eye-opening comparisons since rushing for a career-best 244 yards at Syracuse and humiliating Will Muschamp’s defense at Auburn the previous.

The latest revelation from arguably the SEC’s best ballcarrier ever will surely get him excited.

“He’s better than I was,” Herschel Walker recently told TMZ. “He’s like a fullback because he can take punishment and keep on going.”

Walker, the SEC’s all-time leading rusher, accumulated 5,259 yards on the ground during three seasons and many have put Fournette in the same stratosphere due to a similar violent running style.

Walker won the Heisman and a national title during his stint in Athens. Many consider Fournette the runaway favorite, thus far, for this season’s top honor.

Even at age 53, Walker looks like he’s chiseled from stone. Earlier this year, he said he believed he could make an NFL roster now if given the opportunity.

In due time, we’ll be seeing Fournette’s ferocity at the next level.
