Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh was quick to respond to the latest round of controversy surrounding his plans to have the Wolverines hold practice at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. over spring break.

According to Mark Snyder of The Detroit Free Press, Harbaugh singled out SEC commissioner Greg Sankey.

“I guess (Sankey) is stating a case, but it doesn’t hold water to me,” Harbaugh said. “It’s not an addition of time, it’s the same amount of time. It’s 20 hours. We’ll be on the same rules and guidelines every other team will be under on spring practice.”

“I think there’s been some humor about it. I think it’s comical that he’s taken exception to it.”

Sankey is joined by ACC commissioner John Swofford in objecting to the UM practices at IMG Academy. The commissioners have cited time demands for student athletes in their arguments, though many reporters and fans alike view their objections as attempts to protect their schools’ Sunshine State recruiting advantages.

Harbaugh’s comments came as part of his response to NCAA president Mark Emmert’s personal disapproval of Michigan’s plans.
