Suspended quarterback Maty Mauk has been cleared to rejoin the Missouri Tigers.

Mauk has missed the last four games while suspended for an undisclosed violation of team rules.

Missouri (4-4, 1-4 in the SEC) is off this week. Its next game is Nov. 5, when it hosts Mississippi State in a Thursday night game. It is unknown whether or not Mauk will play in that game.

Missouri has gone 17-5 with Mauk as its starting quarterback. Without Mauk, the Tigers have struggled, losing their last three games. They have not scored a touchdown since their 24-10 win over South Carolina on Oct. 3, the first game Mauk missed, and have scored a total of 12 points in their last three games.

Mauk threw for 654 yards, six touchdowns and four interceptions in Missouri’s first four games. Drew Lock, Mauk’s replacement, has thrown for 538 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in the last four contests. Mauk has a 51.8 percent completion percentage, while Lock has completed 48.8 percent of his throws.

Mauk, a junior, ranks ninth all-time at Mizzou with 4,373 passing yards and fourth with 42 touchdown passes.

Head coach Gary Pinkel has declined comment on Mauk’s situation the past few weeks, and has not commented yet on his return.
