Report: Steve Levy to call ESPN college football games this fall
Mike Tirico’s jump from ESPN to NBC has caused quite the shakeup in the booth for ESPN/ABC.
Not only did Tirico jump from the “World Wide Leader” but Brad Nessler did as well, moving on to CBS to eventually replace Uncle Verne calling the SEC on CBS broadcast. Following those moves, longtime college football announcer Sean McDonough is expected to jump to the NFL’s vacated Monday Night Football booth leaving a void in ESPN’s coverage of college football.
The Big Lead reported Wednesday that Steve Levy will move into a college football role this fall, calling games for ESPN’s No. 3 team. Kirk Herbstreit and Chris Fowler will remain calling with the No. 1 team and SEC Network’s Joe Tessitore will jump into the No. 2 team slot, likely teaming with Todd Blackledge.
