Man, what a bad weekend for the SEC East.

While there was one bright spot, the Missouri Tigers, as a whole the SEC East had an abysmal weekend. Missouri took down one of the hottest teams in college football, the Arkansas Razorbacks, and secured their spot in the SEC championship game.

I’m no longer a doubter and this championship game against Alabama will be a great game. So, props to the Missouri Tigers on back to back SEC East championships.

After the Missouri win on Friday, the SEC East went 0-4 against the ACC and to our arch rivals. The worst part about it is that they all were games that we should have won, with the exception of the South Carolina vs. Clemson game.

I’m not sure what exactly happened with the Gamecocks, but that game was ugly from the start. The other games were pretty much given away. I can’t stand the ACC and the people that think it’s as good a conference as the SEC. However, they proved that they were better this weekend. All four of the ACC teams that beat the SEC teams were ranked in the top 25. Of those SEC teams that lost, only Georgia was ranked.

That’s not an excuse at all, but every SEC team, except the Gamecocks, was right there in those games. The Gamecocks were definitely the most sad team this weekend. I really didn’t think Clemson was that good of a team and I thought that South Carolina would control the game. Clemson flat out whipped our butt on Saturday. The other teams were right there and should have won the rivalry games.

Florida was a pick-six and two missed field goals from beating FSU. Kentucky put up 40 points against a Louisville defense that has been very stingy this season. The Wildcats had their chances to beat the Cardinals as well. Georgia let a triple-option team march down the field with 18 seconds remaining in the game and tie it up as regulation ended. Then the Yellow Jackets picked off Hutson Mason in overtime.

For those of you counting, Mason hasn’t thrown a pick since the Bulldogs played Vanderbilt. There were some very unfortunate plays that happened over the weekend that cost these SEC teams a win. Not only did the teams lose, but now we have to hear about it from the ACC faithful.
