If 2015 isn’t the best year for SEC running backs, it’ll miss a really good chance to be.

The conference is loaded with premier backs, more so than any other conference in the country, and maybe the most loaded in conference history.

Arkansas is cornering the market in terms of backs with career production. The Hogs are the only SEC team to boast two 2,000-yard career rushers. Jonathan Williams and Alex Collins are ready to carry the offense yet again, and should the Hogs develop a potent passing game, the offense could be scary.

You’ll notice the two true sophomores on the list are Nick Chubb and Leonard Fournette. Just looking at the numbers, Chubb’s season was unbelievable, and in any other year, we’d be looking at Fournette’s numbers and be gawking. Those two backs will battle for supremacy in 2015.

The most surprising player on this ranking — and quietly putting together an impressive career — is Missouri’s Russell Hansbrough. He played behind Henry Josey in 2013 and Marcus Murphy in 2014; now, he’s the big man in the backfield. His numbers could take a massive hike with many more touches.

Let’s look at the SEC’s running backs and career production. The top 10 were selected by the total number of rushing yards. Other players have averaged higher yards per carry with less number of attempts, but for the sake of this article, here are the Top 10 career rushers in the SEC:
