Sports Illustrated has released its post-spring Top 25 rankings and outside of Auburn and Alabama in the Top 5, the SEC hasn’t received as much love as most national preseason prognostications.

Ohio State, the overwhelming favorite to repeat as national champions, tops the list with Baylor at No. 2 followed by Auburn, Alabama and Michigan State. You’d have to look over seven more spots to find the next SEC squad, Ole Miss at No. 12.

Two-time defending Eastern Division champion Mizzou comes in at No. 17, one spot above Georgia who is projected by most at the division’s most talented team this fall.

LSU is ranked No. 24. Mississippi State and Arkansas were considered in the ‘receiving votes’ category. Tennessee, a team returning a league-high 18 starters, is nowhere to be found.
