The third weekend of the college football season is almost here and what better way to spend it than watching 10 games involving SEC teams, whether you are lounging on your couch or watching on the go via your favorite mobile device.

We’ve learned a few things about each conference teams in the first two weeks and now we’ve rated all 10 games on watchability.

These rankings are subjective, but factor in league and national impact along with how exciting and how close the games will be. Games are ranked on a 1-to-5 Georgia Dome scale (the site of the SEC Championship Game), with 5 being the most watchable game and 1 being the least.

5 GEORGIA DOMES

No. 15 Ole Miss at No. 2 Alabama — With Hugh Freeze’s high-flying offense versus Nick Saban’s always-outstanding defense, this is the must-watch game in the SEC this weekend. Both teams have stars on each side of the ball and this is the first opportunity to see if the Rebels’ blowout victories in the first two games were simply beating up on weak opponents or if Ole Miss is a legit College Football Playoff contender. The team that controls the tempo has the best shot at winning. Ole Miss wants to play fast and gain yards in bunches through the air. Alabama will likely go to a steady diet of running back Derrick Henry and look toward tight end O.J. Howard in the passing game. This could be one of the most entertaining games of the season.

4 GEORGIA DOMES

No. 18 Auburn at No. 13 LSU — Perhaps Auburn can bounce back from its near defeat to Jacksonville State and prove this is the kind of premier matchup we anticipated it would be at the start of the season. But Auburn quarterback Jeremy Johnson is going to have to improve a lot over last weekend to contend with the always-stout LSU defense in Death Valley. This game is still worth checking out and we may look back on it at the end of the season as one of the key contests in the SEC West, but both teams have something to prove at this point.

Texas Tech at Arkansas — The Razorbacks are looking to bounce back from a shocking loss to Toledo and this time the opponent coming to town isn’t out of the MAC. Texas Tech is a middle-of-the-pack Big 12 team and one the Hogs beat by three touchdowns in Lubbock last year, but if Toledo can win at Arkansas then the Red Raiders are also capable. The Razorbacks aren’t fully healthy and will miss wide receiver Keon Hatcher in particular while former Texas A&M offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury will have his Air Raid offense test the Arkansas secondary all day.

3 GEORGIA DOMES

South Carolina at No. 7 Georgia — On paper this doesn’t look like much of a matchup. The Bulldogs have moved up the rankings with two relatively-easy victories and might be a playoff contender while the Gamecocks are coming off a loss to Kentucky. But South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier always gives Georgia his best and the Gamecocks pulled off a 38-35 upset in Columbia last season. It will be much tougher for South Carolina to get a victory in Athens, but don’t be surprised if the Gamecocks at least make it tough on the Bulldogs.

Florida at Kentucky — We’ll start to see the pecking order in the SEC East take shape this weekend. Kentucky is riding high after picking up a conference road win at South Carolina last week and Florida is 2-0 after hanging on to beat East Carolina. The Wildcats can prove they are ahead of the Gators in the rebuilding process with a victory, which would make a return to a bowl game start to look like a real possibility. These teams played a three-overtime thriller last season, which Florida won, this one could be equally competitive.

2 GEORGIA DOMES

UConn at No. 22 Missouri — The American Athletic Conference has been more than competitive with the Power 5 leagues so far this season, but the Huskies aren’t exactly the team the conference wants carrying the banner into an SEC stadium. UConn had to replace nearly every skill player on offense from a team that went 2-10 last season and even though the Huskies are 2-0 this season, they’ve barely snuck by both Villanova and Army. The Tigers should have an easier time with Connecticut at home than they did on the road at Arkansas State last weekend.

Nevada at No. 17 Texas A&M — The Wolf Pack gave up 44 points on the road at Arizona last week and the Aggies should have a good shot at putting up just as many against one of the poorer teams in the Mountain West. Nevada is one of the youngest teams in the country and most players on the roster have never experienced an environment as daunting as Kyle Field. Texas A&M should have very little trouble improving to 3-0.

1 GEORGIA DOME

Northwestern State at Mississippi State — The Demons got pummelled last week at Louisiana-Lafayette. The FCS program probably doesn’t stand much of a chance against Dak Prescott  and the sound of cowbells ringing in their ears.

Austin Peay at Vanderbilt — The Governors lost their first two games to Mercer and Southern Miss by a combined score of 80-13. Vandy might be 0-2, but the Commodores shouldn’t have much trouble getting their first victory this weekend.

Western Carolina at Tennessee — Think this might be a repeat of Jacksonville State at Auburn? Think again. JSU was a Top 5 FCS team. The Catamounts are coming into Knoxville to get a paycheck and a beating as the Vols take out some frustration after blowing a lead to Oklahoma last week.
