Will Muschamp officially hired former Florida offensive coordinator Kurt Roper to be his co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach on Monday.

While Muschamp had alluded to the hire coming, he had to wait until Roper finished his responsibilities with the Cleveland Browns, where he was serving as an assistant coach, before he could make the hire official.

Roper coached under Muschamp at Florida during the 2014 season, and Muschamp was recently quoted as saying that he believes he would still be the head coach at Florida had he hired Roper earlier in the process.

Roper will share offensive coordinator duties with former Georgia assistant Bryan McClendon, who recently coached the Bulldogs to a win against Penn State in the TaxSlayer Bowl. McClendon also will be in charge of the wide receivers.
