Manziel has had a slew of negative headlines in 2016, most notably involving a domestic violence case. He has also made the tabloids for his continued partying and has parted with multiple agents. After Manziel’s father recently referred to his son as a “druggie,” the 2012 Heisman winner vowed to get sober on July 1 following a trip to Mexico.
In a recent column, Saturday Down South senior writer John Crist opined that Manziel is a product of the media unlikely to see the field again in an NFL uniform.
