Despite down year in College Station, Texas A&M is still winning recruiting battles in the state and the SEC. On Wednesday, Kevin Sumlin and the Aggies got official commitments from three junior college players. On junior college national signing day, the Aggies received letters of intent from safety Justin Evans, wide receiver Damion Ratley and linebacker Claude George, all three-star recruits.

Evans, who played at Mississippi Gulf Coast C.C., has been committed to Texas A&M since spring. In 10 games this year, he had 39 tackles, one interception and five pass breakups. He adds depth to a class that has three other defensive back commits.

Ratley had a huge season for Blinn C.C. in Texas, racking up 1,196 yards and 20 touchdowns in 10 games. The 6-foot-1 player adds to an already rich recruiting corps that got even richer on Wednesday, as Texas A&M also added five-star high school receiver Christian Kirk.

The Aggies get a boost to their subpar linebacking corps with Claude George, who comes from Hutchinson C.C. in Kansas. George looks to be explosive against both the run and the pass, recording 69 total tackles, 14.0 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks at Hutchinson this year, blocking two kicks in the process.

With the three JUCO additions, as well as Kirk, Texas A&M jumped up several spots in 247sports’ industry composite rankings, up to No. 4 in the country and No. 3 in the SEC.
