When Texas A&M unveiled it’s state-of-the-art football locker room last summer, it made waves in college football. Now, it’s spilling over into the outside world.

SXSports, a part of the South by Southwest festival held annually in Austin, Texas, hosted a panel called “The New Cathedral: Sports Stadiums” on Sunday morning. One of the discussion topics was the Aggies locker room, which wasย described during the session as a “bat cave” and a “night club.”

The session, hosted by Brian Mirakian, the director of branding company Populus Activate, discussed “the most progressive experiences currently being conceptualized,” from fanย experiences to behind-the-scenes amenities.

Mirakian used Texas A&M’s locker room was one of the examples of a modern facility ย during the session, talking about how itsย used as a recruiting tool as he showed pictures of the locker room.

โ€œYou need a bold first impression,โ€ Mirakian said during the panel, per the Austin American-Statesman. โ€œYou need to tap into the psyche of a 17-year-old.โ€

SXSW is a set of film, music and interactive conferences held every March. It annually attracts some of the biggest names from a variety of fields. This year’s festival runs from March 13-22.
