Texas A&M has the week off following a disappointing 34-27 home loss to Missouri, giving us time to look back at some of the more interesting statistics over the course of the season and from last week’s game in particular.

THE GOOD

  • 450. While the Aggies have surely had some rough days in SEC play, the offense has for the most part been very good. Texas A&M is piling up 450 yards of total offense per game in the SEC and have only been below 340 yards once, in the debacle against Alabama.
  • 68.6. Kyle Allen raised his completion percentage again against a tough Missouri team, completing 68.6 percent of his passes against the Tigers. He’s now brought his percentage up in both games since his rough starting debut, and the freshman is over 60 percent on the season.
  • 3. Allowing three sacks is usually not a cause for celebration, but the Aggies held Missouri slightly below its average for the season when it comes to taking down the quarterback. Facing the best pass-rushing tandem in the country with a banged-up offensive line, that counts as a victory.

THE BAD

  • 6.8. The Missouri Tigers rushed for 335 yards against the Aggies, at an average of 6.8 yards per carry. That number is especially jarring when you check to see the Tigers hadn’t rushed for more than 250 yards or 5.5 yards per carry in any previous game this season.
  • 4. Against Mizzou, the Aggies yielded 500-plus yards for the fourth time this season. The 587-yard total the Tigers racked up after coming in averaging 250 yards in SEC play was the second-most the Aggies have let up this season, right behind the 59-0 Alabama loss.
  • 3. The Aggies offensive imbalance appears to be coming back to bite them, as they lost their third straight game in which they attempted 35 or more passes. A&M had won its first four such contests this year.
