The bad weekend may have just gotten much worse for Tennessee’s football program.

Following the biggest upset of the weekend, in which the Vols lost by a score of 24-21 in Columbia, Tennessee may have suffered another loss Sunday.

Via his personal Twitter page, Tennessee sophomore defensive lineman Jonathan Kongbo cryptically tweeted out this image:

Not exactly a positive sign following the tough defeat to South Carolina.

The redshirt sophomore out of Canada was regarded as the top JUCO prospect in the entire country last offseason. He signed with Tennessee over offers from Alabama, Ole Miss, USC and Florida State, and was expected to immediately bolster the Vols’ pass rush.

However, in a reserve role, Kongbo has registered only four tackles through the first eight games of the 2016 season. Tennessee possesses good depth at the defensive end spot. As such, the coaching staff decided to move Kongbo inside at the tackle position.

Suffice it to say, but he has struggled with the transition. The lack of statistical production may have been exacerbated even further by the fact Kongbo was learning a new position in addition to moving to the major college football.

In addition to his cryptic tweet, Kongbo appears to have removed all mention of Tennessee from his Twitter account:

In recent weeks, both head coach Butch Jones and defensive coordinator Bob Shoop have defended Kongbo against those criticizing him for a lack of expected production.
