Former Tennessee running back Jalen Hurd had a fascinating career in Knoxville.

Hurd played extensively as a freshman and sophomore — combing for over 2,000 yards on the ground to go along with 17 total touchdowns. As a junior heading into the 2016 season, it was assumed Hurd would content for all-conference — and perhaps even national honors.

However, a once-promising career ended in rather abrupt fashion.

Hurd struggled as a junior, and ultimately left the team midway through the season rather mysteriously. Since that point, little information has come out in regards to his future.

A recent report by radio host Jimmy Hyams indicated that Hurd is still in limbo currently:

Hurd could opt to transfer to another school — assuming he’d be okay with sitting out a year. He theoretically could also enter the 2017 NFL Draft.
