The Tennessee Volunteers (6-6, 3-5 SEC) have accepted a bid to play in the 2015 Taxslayer Gator Bowl on Jan. 2, 2015 in Jacksonville, Fla. The Vols will face the Iowa Hawkeyes (7-5, 4-4 Big Ten) for the third time in school history. The Vols are 1-1 against the Hawkeyes all-time.

Tennessee will make in its first bowl game since 2010. The Vols last appearance came in the 2010 Music City Bowl against North Carolina. Tennessee has made five appearances in the Gator Bowl and holds a 3-2 record. The Vols’ last appearance came during a 45-23 win against Virginia Tech in 1994.

Iowa finished fourth in the Big Ten West after ending its season with two consecutive losses. The Hawkeyes ranked No. 66 overall in total offense and No. 18 in total defense.

Quarterback Jake Rudock finished fourth in the Big Ten with 2,404 yards, 16 touchdowns and five interceptions on 211-of-337 passing. Drew Ott was fifth in the conference with 7.5 sacks.
