Though Tennessee doesn’t have a game this week, senior DL LaTroy Lewis is still in Knoxville, giving back to the community for Hero Day:

According to a Tennessee press release, Lewis is honoring the memory of a heroic high school football player who was killed while shielding two girls from gunfire:

Hero Day, which takes place on Saturday from 12-3 p.m. at Lonsdale Park, was organized as a community event aimed at actively demonstrating to Knoxville youth how they can best serve their communities. The event is held in honor of Zaevion Dobson, a former Fulton High School football player, who was killed while shielding two girls from gunfire.

All proceeds from the day’s event will benefit Lonsdale Elementary School.

Lewis isn’t the first Tennessee player to pay tribute to Dobson this season, as junior defensive back Todd Kelly Jr. switched his jersey number from No. 6 to No. 24 in honor of Dobson.
