What’s the temperature like in Nashville? Here’s who’s hot or cold for the Vanderbilt Commodores.

SIZZLING

Ralph Webb continues to lead Vanderbilt with 499 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 107 carries. The redshirt freshman is the Commodores only consistent option on offense and continues to produce, despite his team’s woes. Webb saw the majority of carries from the backfield against No. 13 Georgia, despite Jerron Seymour’s season-high nine attempts.

WARM

Nigel Bowden is having a stellar season. The redshirt freshman leads Vanderbilt with 44 total tackles from the middle linebacker position. Bowden is coming off an eight-tackle performance in the Commodores 44-17 loss to Georgia and is gaining attention in his first season of action.

COLD

Wade Freebeck is not ready to start in the SEC. The true freshman burned his redshirt after making his Week 3 debut against UMass, only to be benched several times since. Freebeck has 356 yards, a touchdown and five interceptions on 29-of-65 passing this season. However, he’s hardly Vanderbilt’s worst option at quarterback.

FROZEN

Stephen Rivers managed to play so poorly against Georgia that Freebeck returned to action, one week after being benched no less. Philip’s little brother is having a terrible season with 334 yards, zero touchdowns and three interceptions on 25-of-63 passing. Rivers has a completion percentage of 39.7 and a passer rating of 74.7. Derek Mason’s only hope is that Patton Robinette makes a speedy recovery– which seems unlikely as he’s expected to miss his third consecutive start due to a concussion.
