The Vanderbilt Commodores (1-5) host Charleston Southern (5-0) on Saturday in Nashville. The Commodores look to bounce back from a three-game losing skid with a big win against an FCS opponent. Here’s a look inside the numbers.

THE GOOD:

499: Ralph Webb continues to lead Vanderbilt with 499 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 107 carries. The redshirt freshman is the Commodores only consistent option on offense and continues to produce, despite his team’s woes. Webb saw the majority of carries from the backfield against No. 13 Georgia, despite Jerron Seymour’s season-high nine attempts.

44: Nigel Bowden is having a stellar season. The redshirt freshman leads Vanderbilt with 44 total tackles from the middle linebacker position. Bowden is coming off an eight-tackle performance in the Commodores 44-17 loss to Georgia and is gaining attention in his first season of action.

THE BAD:

10: Vanderbilt’s quarterbacks have combined for 10 interceptions through six games. Wade Freebeck leads with five, Stephen Rivers has three and Johnny McCray– whose only played one quarter– has two. Patton Robinette is the only quarterback that hasn’t thrown an interception, but has missed the past three games with a concussion.

-6: Vanderbilt’s turnover margin. The Commodores have thrown 10 interceptions and lost five fumbles. The defense has recovered seven fumbles and a pair of interceptions. Vanderbilt needs to be more efficient on offense and avoid costly turnovers.
