Vanderbilt fans have successfully petitioned the school to allow the band to perform at halftime of the Commodores’ homecoming game on Oct. 22.

According to The Tennesseean, Tennessee State’s band was the only band to schedule perform at halftime. Fans launched a change.org petition calling for the Spirit of Gold Marching Band to be allowed to perform at halftime.

The petition was successful, leading to the following response from the the school:

“The bands’ performances will be part of a busy day with the 1965 football team being recognized along with the 2016 Outstanding Senior nominees and crowning of the 2016 Outstanding Senior as well as the Reunion Cup presentation,” the statement said.
